Dirty Electricity is probably the newest environmental pollution and like RF pollution it is increasing exponentially. Whilst DE has been around since the supply of electricity began it has grown significantly in recent times. The causes of DE are many and varied but two of its biggest creators are switch mode power supplies (AC adaptors) and energy efficient (particularly lighting) products such as low energy light bulbs and dimmer switches. It is therefore not surprising that we are only just identifying this new environmental pollution as a problem. As the growth in the use of the appliances that use AC adapters both in the home and workplace has skyrocketed in tandem with energy efficient products as people try to combat rising fuel prices and shrinking credit crunched wallets, growth of this type of appliance and pollution was and is inevitable.

Seemingly the biologically active component of DE, transients, or in laymen terms radio frequency is causing the exact or at least very similar health issues as wireless communications. Peer reviewed research in the States such as Dr Sam Milham's study recently published in the AMERICAN JOURNAL OF INDUSTRIAL MEDICINE (2008) gives cause for concern. Click here to view report.

Within his study he shows a wave form and makes this significant statement : "However, the low risk ratios in most studies suggest that magnetic fields might be a surrogate for a more important metric. In this paper we present evidence that a new exposure metric, high frequency voltage transients existing on electrical power wiring, is an important predictor of cancer incidence in an exposed population."

What he seems to be saying here is that the electrical pollutant for decades now thought to be most dangerous, that of EMFs from power lines and pylons may have been a red herring and that dirty electricity may be the most biologically active EMF. In his study which was conducted blind at La Quinta, California middle school he found much evidence of the disease we have come to associate with EMFs from pylons and seen in clusters around mobile phone masts. There is also much evidence among both teachers and pupils of what is an increasingly modern day scourge in the workplace such as stress related illness, concentration and learning difficulties, headaches, general sickness and depression all reducing dramatically when extremely high levels of dirty electricity were cleaned up with a filtration system.

In short, although it is too early to say this could be the answer to lots of questions regarding both domestic health and modern workplace productivity and morale.
